What I Do

I work at Quicken Loans as a front-end developer, and I specialize in creating and maintaining the WordPress sites in the Quicken Loans family of companies.

In my most recent projects I’ve been learning more and more of HTML5 and CSS3, as well as finally getting the hang of JavaScript, and specifically jQuery. I have a cursory knowledge of PHP – I won’t be writing my own frameworks, but I can deal with WordPress customization, and usually figure out what a PHP developer was trying to do.

I have also started to work with responsive web design, a concept that allows a website developer create a site that cooperates with all screen sizes, without having to create an entirely separate site or template for the content.

In My Free Time

I have a few traditional hobbies that I keep up with in between learning web technologies.

Photography is my latest hobby; I have no plans to become a “fauxtographer” – a hobbyist that pretends to be a professional photographer – but I do enjoy increasing my skills whenever possible.

I’m also a writer, and I write articles for a few sites around the web.
